Article I

Purpose: The Wytheville  Ladies Golf Association (WLGA) is organized to encourage members’ participation in regular play, local tournaments and invitationals, the Blue Ridge Golf Association and state competitions.

 

Article II

Membership:  Any 16 year old female or member of her high school golf team, who is a member of the Wytheville Golf club and has paid her annual Ladies Golf Association dues is leigible for voting membership in the WLGA.    (revised 5/2019)

 

Article III

Officers:  The officers of the WLGA shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Nominations for a slate of officers will be solicited from the members in the fall of each year and the officers will be elected by written ballot mailed to all voting members; results of the election will be announced at the December meeting.  Officers will serve for a term of one year and their terms are renewable for one year.  The four officers will constitute the Executive Committee.  

Duties of the Officers:

It is the responsibility of the President to preside at all meetings of the WLGA and to work with the Club Pro to schedule Ladies Golf events, tournaments, and clinics.

 

The Vice President shall assist the President and, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of the President.  In addition , she shall invite at least three members (other than officers) to compose a Nominating Committee if she is not a candidate for the election.

 

The Secretary shall be responsible  for the minutes of the meetings and the membership and Executive Committee.  She shall maintain an updated list of the names, email addresses and phone numbers of all voting and social members and/ or their families and oversee the Calling Committee.  Minutes of the meetings shall be emailed to membes and posted in the locker room.

The Treasurer shall oversee the receipt and expenditures of all dues received.  The treasurer shall report on these funds to the members at each meeting.

Article IV

 

The Executive Committee:

The Executive Committee shall have general supervision of the affairs of the WLGA between the meetings of the members.  The Executive Committee shall determine the dates and times of the members’ meetings and shall insure that there is at least one member willing to be responsible to organize the annual Invitational, Member-Member/Member Guest and Club Championship tournaments, Monday evening golf , and to be a liaison with the Blue Ridge Golf Association.  Tournament play will be limited to those female golfers age 16 or older.

 

The Executive Committee shall seek approval of the members for single financial expendatures in an amount over $100.

      An officer may resign at any time by giving notice in writing to the President or any other member of the Executive Committee.  The Executive Committee may appoint any voting member of the WLGA to fill such a vacancy until the next regularly scheduled meeting.

 

Article V

Meetings:  There will be three annual meetings of the voting members:  an organizational meeting shall take place in the spring, a slate of officers will be developed during the fall meeting and the election results will be announced at the December meeting.

Decisions will be made by a simple majority of the voting members present at the meeting.

 

Article VI

Amendments:  The Executive Committee shall review the Bylaws as necessary and recommend appropriate changes.  Any voting member of the WLGA may submit a proposed change in the Bylaws to the Executive Committee in writing.  Proposed amendments to the Bylaws must be circulated to all voting members 30 days prior to a meeting and they must receive approval of at least a majority of those members present at the meeting.
